How they got engaged: Tony proposed to Laurie-Ann on a balmy night at Nepean Point in Ottawa, beside the Champlain monument, overlooking the splendour of the Ottawa river.

The bride looked stunning in a long white brocade dress with short puffed sleeves; sweetheart neck; ivory veil with ribbon trimming, and as a family heirloom, an ivory sparkling tiara; pearl earings, white pump shoes, and lace fingerless gloves with a wrist ruffle.

- Maid of Honour - wore a floor-length, high-waisted, short-sleeved gold lace and metallic dress and gold metallic sandals. Her coiffure was an elaborate upswept mass of curls and rhinestones.

Allison - bridesmaid - matched the maid of honour exactly.

The groom was dressed in a silver blue suit. The groomsmen were suited in dark blue with plum and gold ties.

Carol - the mother of the bride - wore a floor-length turquoise chiffon dress, and Steve - the father of the bride was resplendent in a silver grey suit.

The flowers for the wedding were purple and white irises. Music for the ceremony encompassed Beethoven and Chopin, traditional hymns and contemporary Christian praise songs.

The reception theme was a Victorian high tea in the form of a buffet. The bonbierre wedding cake was dark fruit cake. The bride's cake was pound cake with marzipan icing. Reception entertainment was by The Formerly Unknown, who played Beatles tunes and rock'n'roll.

The semi-formal reception spanned the romantic Hartin House garden, the wide green veranda and the main reception room.

After their honeymoon in the Pocono Mountains, P.A., they made their home in Kanata, Ontario. You can reach Laurie-Ann at eh202@ncf.ca, and Tony at tonyc@ncf.ca.
