The following information regarding "Back in the USSR" was written by Ralph Weigmann and is used with permission here at the Ottawa Beatles Site.

Date: 10 Apr 1995
You can find many different versions of the CHOBA B CCCP album
on vinyl.
The first release contains 11 songs, a yellow star on the front
and it has a yellow back-cover. The 2nd release has 13 songs and
a little star which can be silver, golden or grey (this depends
on the factory where the record was made).
The back cover of this version is white and it contains a
different text. This version was limited too, but the limit was
much higher.
These records were sold officially in russian record shops but
there was no chance to get them (except you are a good friend to
the salesman).
There are known versions from factorys in Moscow, Riga, Leningrad,
Tashkent and from Aprelka, a little town near Moscow.
The release from the factory in Taschkent is distributed in an
glamour-cover (11 songs). The various factorys produced records
with different labels (white or red) containing different text
on it. The Leningrad release is very interesting because the
silhouettes of the town are printed on the label.
The matrix contains the record number and a special number which
gives information about the release: A60-00415/1-1 is older than
A60-00415/1-6. On falsifications these number is scraped by hand
and not printed by a machine. Bootlegs mostly have very thick
cover paper and a brown star on it.
There are some misprints of the legal releases:
* a version contains 13 songs, but only 11 on the cover and on
the label.
* a versions contains twelve (!) songs on the record but 13 on
cover and label.
* a record with 13 songs on it (and also on label and cover)
but with a yellow star !

I hope this is useful for your archives.
