"When John appeared on the steps of the U of O campus he was rushed by a hoard of people (me included). He said something like "I know we can achieve peace if we work for it," and then raced back inside with Yoko and her child before he got trampled. He did not reach the microphone to address the outside audience. I still remember it as if it were yesterday.

The picture was taken as he got out of his car before entering a remote building for what I believe was a press conference. About two hours later he took an underground tunnel and appeared on the steps of another building to address the public. I don't know the names of the buildings, but they are both still standing."
